OpenMoji pictures in Afterimage
The adapted pictures from OpenMoji used in the game Afterimage, shared under the same licence as the originals.
openmoji.org · Licence: CC BY-SA 4.0
Afterimage shows simple outline pictures and asks you to redraw them from memory. 863 of its pictures (OpenMoji 17.0.0) and 13 starter drawings (OpenMoji 15.1.0) are adapted from OpenMoji’s black line set. Our adapted versions are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0: you may share and adapt them, including commercially, if you credit OpenMoji, link the licence, say what you changed, and share your own adaptations under the same licence.
One ZIP file: 876 SVG pictures, a list of their names and difficulty, the outlines the game scores against, and a copy of this notice.
What we changed
- We used only OpenMoji’s black line set (no colour emoji).
- Strokes and small filled marks were recoloured to #f4efe4 (a light cream), so the lines can be drawn on dark or coloured boards. The game shows them in its own colours. The shapes were not redrawn.
- Each picture’s outline was also converted to simplified polylines, which the game uses to compare a drawing with the picture.
- Pictures were given plain-English names and sorted by difficulty.
What this licence covers
Only these adapted OpenMoji pictures. The rest of Afterimage, including its software and pictures from other sources, is not covered. Those pictures are under their own licences, listed under Credits in the game.
